Proudly born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Rodriguez has had a passion and appreciation for storytelling since early childhood. He got his official start in filmmaking in high school: a claymation called "Movie Madness" which won the Silver Key in the the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2011. From there, he went on to write and direct several short films, thus creating the independent production company, Somnient Pictures.
Rodriguez has taken his passion and turned it into a career, having worked on numerous projects including commercials, theatrical films, documentaries, and music videos. Through all this, he tries to remember that while the execution of a film has its challenges, the overall goal is simple: connect to the audience and have fun doing it.
